Wood Shop
In my Architectural Detailing class, I worked on a project with the goal of exploring highly detailed, technical design. I chose to focus on a wood shop, approaching it with practicality in mind, looking closely at how the space would function, the construction methods, and the materials used. My aim was to create a design that was not only functional for the users but also reflected the precision and craftsmanship that a wood shop requires.
Working on this project gave me a better understanding of how architectural detailing affects both how a space functions and how well it holds up over time. Focusing on the practical side of design allowed me to see how small choices in materials, connections, and layout can make a big difference in a building’s overall performance. The experience helped me think more critically about how design ideas are translated into construction and how careful detailing brings a project to life.
